Some computer problems are caused by virus and malware infections. Here is a simple virus removal procedure you can do yourself.
Simple Virus Removal in Windows
- To begin Virus Removal, turn on the Computer and login, if necessary
- Click the Windows Start button
- Begin typing Windows Security (just start typing, it will pop up)
- An icon for Windows Security will pop up
- Click to open the app.
- On this screen, click Virus & threat protections
- Here we will click the Quick Scan button
- Windows Defender will scan for and remove all infections found and instruct you on how to proceed if there are further issues.
This procedure will detect and remove almost all infections that effect Windows. There are some infections that will be detected but cannot be removed while Windows is running. These may require special tools to be resolved. If Windows Security indicates that the infections have been removed or that no infections were found, the problem is likely not caused by an infection. Further diagnostics are required at that point to determine the cause of the system’s problems. Slow performance, crashes, lose of connection, and apps not working all can be caused by operating system issues, software incompatibility, or hardware defects or failure. Problems that seem to only occur in your web browser may be caused by malware or corruption in the browser itself. Resetting your browser may solve the issues.
