How can I make my mouse left handed?
The typical three button mouse in use today is an ambidextrous mouse, it is both right handed and left handed. The setting of the primary button, the “left click” button, can be toggled from left to right in Mouse Settings. Here is how to change your mouse in Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7
In Windows 10 and Windows 8:
- Click the Windows Start button
- Type Mouse to bring up Mouse Settings menu item
- Click on Mouse Settings to open the Mouse screen
- In the “Select your primary button” drop-down box you can change from Right to Left orientation
The mouse orientation changes immediatly reversing the primary button.
In Windows 7:
- Click the Windows Start button
- Click on Control Panel
- Click on Hardware
- Click on Mouse under Devices and Printers
- Click in the Buttons tab
- Click on “Switch primary and secondary buttons” to reverse the primary button
- Click on OK to save the changes
The settings toggles the mouse from right handed use to left handed use.
